Website or No Website? That is the Question

Tutorial on websites, blogs, myspace and replicated webpages

 

One of the questions I get asked the most is: Do I need a website to do business online, or will my blog or myspace work? Oh, yeah, and let's not forget the dreaded replicated webpage. This tutorial is to introduce you to some of the concepts of why you really should have a website and how the parts of your business such as a myspace, blog and replicated webpage fit into this system.

 

My answer is always the same; you absolutely MUST have a website, if you expect to have a real online business.

 

Before you click away thinking you cannot build your own website, I would like to let you know that many things have changed over the years and building a professional website yourself is not as hard as you might think. You do not have to be a super computer geek to build one, nowadays.

 

Once you learn how to build a website, you have complete control of the website and its content. If the MLM you are with gives you a webpage, this is not a website where you have complete control over the content.  What is worse is a replicated webpage is nothing more then a sales page with an opt-in box. This is the worst kind of content you want people to find when they find you. Your content is one of the most important parts of your business and website. (More later on why content is one of the most important parts of your website and business.)

 

Many people will not read past the above paragraph. They are happy to think what they are doing is going to work, they have gotten lost in all the hype and promises that make doing an MLM business online sound as simple as signing up, filling out some fields and driving traffic to a sales page. For you, however, you are still reading. This means you are able to keep your mind open and continue to learn what it takes to be truly successful.

 

I will go into more detail of each aspect of building a website in other free tutorials. For now, in this tutorial, I will introduce you to some of the concepts of why a website is so important and how to use your social networking sites for generating traffic to that website.

 

Blogs and myspace have their place as parts of doing business online but they are not replacements for a real website. So why do so many people resist creating a real online business with a real website? For some people, they think that only a computer geek can do that. For others, they do not yet know what should be on a website so they have no idea that they are skipping the most important part of there sales system.

 

 There are just some things you cannot skip or try to get around. Most of the shortcuts I see people use cause them to spend more money and work much harder for very poor results or no results at all. Shortcuts only give you the false hope or feeling that you are doing something to change your future to make that online business a reality. If you have reached the point where you are starting to understand this then you are in good shape. You are on your way to creating a successful business.

All the parts to your online business have their place and function.

 

So what are the differences?

 

Myspace
This is a way for you to introduce yourself, not to sell things. Used with the right formula you can generate traffic to your website with Myspace. The key point is that your Myspace leads to your website but it should not become a sales page. If your Myspace looks like a sales page trying to sell someone on the idea of joining your MLM, then you are going about it all wrong. You will want to learn the Myspace formula and use your Myspace to generate that much needed traffic to your website. More on the Myspace formula in another tutorial.

 

Blogs
Blogs are a personal journal or diary that you share with people. You can use a blog to help with your business provided you use it as a journal that will get people interested in something very important... YOU! Blogs can help people find value in you and this will interest them in going to your website. Blogs are another great way to generate targeted traffic to your site, but you need a website.

 

The Replicated Webpage
This is by far one of my biggest pet peeves about the online business opportunities out there. the replicated webpage. When you introduce someone to your MLM the last thing you want to do is send someone to a replicated website (or I should say a replicated sales webpage).

One of two things will happen. You will either loose that one in a hundred person that you would really want in your network or you will sign up a get rich quick dreamer that will quit on you as soon as they realize they actually have to work to build a real business. A replicated webpage gives people the false impression that all you have to do is sign up and send traffic to your replicated webpage and that is all there is to it.

 

Well nothing could be further from the truth. A replicated webpage has its use which should be as the last page you show people after they have asked you to qualify them into your business.

 

There is just no comparison. Would you think I had the knowledge and know how to help you build a real business if you only found that I had a myspace or blog or some sort of replicated webpage? Or would you be expecting to see that I had a real website which demonstrates some level of professionalism?

 

 Think about how many times someone has pushed a Myspace page on you that had there biz-op on it. Were you excited and ready to join or did you just click away? Myspace and blogs are great tools if you know how to use them to drive traffic to your website but ultimately you must have a website that delivers the right formula and structure to convert your traffic into a success .When people find you on the internet they are NOT looking for your business opportunity or to buy something so to start out at that point is a great way to work very hard to find people to go to your site and then just click away.

 

You want to give people what they are looking for when they find you. Think about how you surf the internet and how you respond when you hit a replicated opt in sales page. You click away and go back to doing what you were doing. The reason is because you did not find what you were looking for. So what was it that you were looking for? You were looking for information, or solutions, that is what everyone is looking for.

 

 Just about all internet surfing that people do is the same, people are looking for information and if they are looking for the type of information you have and find it when they arrive then you have someone at your website that is going to stay because they are going to consume that information and they are then going to see that they have found someone that knows what they are doing (provided your upline knows what they are doing and have taught you these things).These visitors are the kinds of people that will contact you. Oops, did I say contact you? Yes. I did. When you build your business the right way, people contact you and ask you to tell them about your business opportunity not the other way around.

 

Do you see why I am having fun and you are not? People are contacting me and pestering me not me pestering them.

 

You do not have to be on an uphill battle to do business online, you just need to know what you are doing and how people react to how you to it. There are literally thousands and thousands of people out there that are not making any money with their internet business and they have just as much desire and determination as you do but they just do not have the right information. I am giving you the opportunity to do something that will show people that you can have more then just a business opportunity to offer but that you also along with your network have the knowledge that they are in desperate need of.

 

The internet boggles most people's minds because they see it as a shortcut to success.

 

They see it almost like the gold rush, just get online and strike it rich. Some people do strike it rich online. Every once in awhile someone will stumble upon the right thing at the right time and just naturally have the right knowledge that makes it all come together to start raking in the big bucks right off the bat. But, let's face it, this is rare and the odds are you are going to have to learn and go through the process of building your internet business. This process starts with putting together ALL the parts you need to get your business off the ground.

The first thing I ask people that contact me is to "Show me your website". Let me take a look and give you some tips to improve on it. The answer almost always comes back, "I do not have a website". Or they send me to there MLM's replicated webpage, myspace or blog. The reason I know that a website is a huge stumbling block for most people is because most people are almost always missing that piece which is the basic foundation of their internet business!

 

Find me a  successful internet marketer that doesn't have a real website and I will show you someone that is working way too hard for much less money than one who did have a website set up with the right structure and formula for converting traffic into a profit.

 

You have read this tutorial down to this point. Why? What you were doing when you found this and got this far into my tutorial, you were hoping you would find that golden nugget. You were hoping to find that one peace of missing information that you need to get your business going. Do you see the point I am getting at? Out of all the many things people send you and all the business opportunities and sales pages you run into how often do you take the time to read this far into something you found on the internet?!!!

 

I am not a great writer that has just captured your undivided attention. What you read so far has not been so riveting that you just could not pull your self away. The reason you are still reading is because you want to learn. You want to see if there is information here that you can use. THAT is what you want people to find when they find you and your website.

 

Doing business online is all about knowing the right formula that fits with how people work. All of these business opportunities online that promise you the world for doing nothing but sending traffic to a sales page neglect to tell you that you are going to need to send thousands and thousands of people to that sales page just to convert a few of them into dollars. Does this sound to you like what you want to do with all your time? And then what do you end up with? You end up with people that are not qualified, who are not like you and they are not interested in doing what it takes to be successful because they just want something quick and easy and these people always QUIT!

 

Perpetual prospecting

You might be thinking "But wait! That is how I got started. I found a business opportunity online that got me excited so I filled out the op-in page and got started."

Well, then I have to ask, "How is that working out for you so far? Are you making money? Are you making enough money to make the time you spend on it worth it? Or you on your second or third business opportunity hoping maybe the new one will finally be the one that works?" The thing is, though, You have not given up! You are going to keep looking and learning until you figure it out. This is the type of person I like to work with and these are also the type of people you want to find you. We all start out this way, it is not your fault. When someone decides to go start a business online they start off by looking online to see how to get started.

 

What they find usually is one of the many opportunities that claim that all you need is a simple replicated webpage that you can set up in minutes and then start driving traffic to that page. They show you how other people signed up and made thousands and thousands within a very short time. What they are not telling you is that these people knew how to do business online before they even started or that they had the funds to drive a huge amount of traffic to that site to find the few people that would build that business. The problem here is you don't know how to do that and if you do not have tons of money sitting around to make something like that happen it isn't going to happen. Again, it is not your fault. We all have to start somewhere.

 

 The real difference between someone that makes a fortune online and someone that doesn't is some people will not give up until they figure it out. Does that sound like you? I know it does because once again you are still reading which tells me you are still trying to figure all this out. And, now, you are starting to think about websites and why you need one. you are also thinking what is this guy going to try to sell me and when is he going to get to it!!!! hehehe I know exactly what you are thinking because I know what I am doing and how internet marketing works, I know you want to learn, you want information and this website is going to give you more information then you can handle, free with no opt-in

 

So let me tell you more.

 

 I don't think you want to be working twice as hard for half as much. When I teach network marketing I show people how to build an income as they go because most people cannot wait six months to a year for there main back end business starts making money. They need to make money along the way, to help build that main back end business that will generate a residual income even if they stop working on it, right?

 

The replicated website that your MLM gives you doesn't have a way for you to monetize it with affiliate marketing. This is a huge part of this business, I see it all the time, people doing network marketing with out the affiliate marketing to go with it. This leaves not only just you with out that along the way income it also leaves your downline with out such an income. So what do you do?!!! You start by learning how to build your business the right way, you start with a website. you learn how to get the right content on that website and you learn how to monetize that with the right kind of  affiliate marketing to help you and your downline generate income while you build the residual income, and you find someone that can walk you through this prossess, you stop trying to go it alone, you let go of that so called mentor that only has the same answer to all your questions which is always the same, and the reason it is always the same is because they have no idea how to help you because the person that helped them didn't know anything either!!!

 

So are you there yet? Are you finally finished with taking short cuts that are not working? Have you had enough of jumping from one opportunity to another opportunity hoping you will find that magic bullet that finally puts it all together in a realistic way that works?

 

If so, then, great! Now what? Where do you start?

 

I have introduced you to some ideas of why a website is a must have and an important place to start but you have to now figure out where you get this website because there are so many places to choose from. I see it all the time, people with a domain name and a simple page that they tried to build but did not get very far. They get stuck; they have no idea what direction to take. This is because the place they picked to get their domain name and website did not give them the information or the ability to build a professional website with the right structure.

 

Where this even gets worse is that if they were to get that website finished they are going to have to worry whether or not everyone in their network can do the same. In network marketing, people have to be able to copy what you do. This can sound like a problem but it is in fact a good thing for both you and your downline to know.

 

Let me explain.

 

If you are doing MLM (or as I prefer to call it "Network Marketing"), you have to make sure everyone in your network can do all the things you can do. So when I realized that almost everyone is stuck on this step in their business I had to find the best place out there that makes it possible for anyone with the true intention to build a successful website could not only use but share with there network with the same results.

 

I can tell you, right now, I wish I had back all the money I spent learning the hard way when it comes finding the right website provider. It is not easy. They all look and sound so good. They make it sound like you can not get a better price or that anyone can do it but once you have spent your money and get started it doesn't take long before you learn the truth.

 

Some are too simple and your website will look like a 5 year old built it, some are so complex that you just cant understand it at all, others have a nice balance in the area of construction of the website but offer nothing in the way of understanding the formula for a successful website, and almost all of them end up not being able to grow with you as your business and skills grow so you end up spending a fortune in add-ons for things you did not even know you would one day need.

 

I know because I have been there. Trust me, I have been there ready to pull out my hair in complete frustration. So much so that there is no way I would ever want to tell someone in my network to use many of the systems or services that I was using. Fortunately, persistence prevailed and through trial and error I now have the best solution. I now have something I can share with my network of business associates that I know I can guarantee will get them off to an amazing start and keep up with them as they grow.

 

But it gets even better then that!

 

Here is where I get to the good part.

When I first got started, I did affiliate marketing. It was not until later that I realized that an instant income is great but if I stop working my income stops. So I learned how to build a residual income through multi tier affiliate marketing and network marketing systems. The network marketing gives me a main business that will continue even if I stop working. Or, if I want to pass the business on to someone else, they can just receive the income without having to know all that I know. The thing I discovered very early is that it takes time to build a main residual income business and people need money to grow that business. People need money as they go.

 

So what does this have to do with building a website you might ask? It has a lot to do with it. With the approach I take, I not only show someone how to generate an ongoing instant income, I am helping my entire network do the same. But, wait, there's more! My network also ends up with the best tools to build that successful business!

 

So let me explain how that works.

 

To have a successful network marketing business you and everyone in your downline are going to need a few very important tools. These tools include the most important one. the website. Not just any website but one which is set up correctly with the right formula and structure because if you and your downline are all going to need the same tools and you know the best ones out there then you and the people you work with can make money at the same time you are helping eachother.

 

This is what makes what I do fun. Yes, network marketing is fun when you are doing it the right way. Helping people and getting paid for it as a side effect. When you help people build their network correctly, you make money and they learn from you how to do the same for the people that join them. That is the ultimate business. I hate selling things. I am just not the sales pitch type, I don't enjoy talking people into being something just so I can make money, that is not fun for me. What is fun for me is getting paid showing other people how to get paid the same way I do. It is not only easy it is also a blast!

 

So you might be wondering how I could possibly know the best way to go about this website building and network marketing thing. Well, as I alluded to above, it was through trial and error, a great deal of frustration and a huge amount of wasted money. For people like you and I who refuse to give up, it is just a matter of how long it is going to take to find the right people with the right information who are willing to share this information in a way that helps you.

 

I started out when the internet was new. There was not much out there to choose from, there were not so many people to get help from, and the internet was new to everyone. This created a long learning curve to my experience.

 

The good thing is that you do not have to go through this process because you can find the right person to help you get right to the best of the best and get the show on the road. This is not to say you will not experience set backs and frustrations on your journey to success, what I am saying is that you do not have to do this by yourself. We all need someone to guide us in the right direction, someone to help you when you get stuck. Giving you the right information is only part of the process. You are going to get stuck, you are going to get frustrated and you are going to need someone to help you along the way. That is the mentoring part, that is what I do and that is what is fun.

 

With this said, starting out with the best MLM and all the right tools can get you well on your way and with someone guiding you on that journey. That journey starts with the foundation, your own website.

Are you ready for some tough love?

I want to help but first you have to let go of the idea that the internet and MLM have their own set of marketing rules.

 

We all start out thinking this but in time we learn it doesn't work. At the same time, we somehow know there must be a better way.

 

 I can show you what I do and how it works. I have learned from the top internet marketers out there, you can check my about page for details on that. and I am not talking about the top marketers out there that are good at making a fast buck at their victims expense. real top marketing experts. The top marketing experts that know how to build a residual income as well as an income as you go through affiliate marketing.

 

You do not need to be in the same opportunities as I am to benefit from this website. Believe it or not, I don't even need any new people, right now.( UPDATE: I have room for one right now, March 6, limited time) But, what I am willing to do, for nothing, is point you in the right direction with this website and its free tutorials and videos

 

The more people that stop using the absurd marketing techniques that seem to be reserved for only MLM marketing, the better it will be for everyone, and the better it will be for people looking for the right online business to get started with.

I don't think you want to give up your nine five job so you could spend all your time pushing your biz-opp on people that are not even the least bit interested or so you would have to pester your downline to stick with it when they never had a real interest in building a real internet marketing business in the first place. That is, assuming you have a downline at all.

 

To be successful at internet marketing, you first have to learn that starting and running a business of any kind is a journey. However with MLM and Affiliate marketing there is this seems to be this strange set of rules and marketing techniques that were developed to help the average person run their own network marketing business, the problem with it is it goes around the time tested real world marketing and is the average person will won't be able to do many of these things, such as:

• Signing up your friends, family and co workers.
• Cold calling
• Buying so called pre screened leads
• Abide by the three foot rule ( selling any stranger with in three feet of you everywhere you go)
• Copy and pasting your Biz-opp to spam people all over the internet
• Dragging people to boring hotel meetings

 

The list is long but these are just a few of the worst ones that we are all taught to do by people that don't know what they are doing any more than those they are teaching.

 

Fortunately, there is a better way and you do not need to do any these crazy things to find people. In fact, what would you say if I told you that the best people you can work with will find you and ask you if you will help them, not the other way around? Sound impossible?

 

Well the time has come for you to take that next step in your MLM internet marketing journey. That, is if anything I have said so far has struck a nerve with you.

• Have you reached that point yet, where you realize that MLM and Affiliate marketing is not a get rich quick business?

• Have you finally hit that point where you realize that MLM and Affiliate marketing is a real business and that it is time for you to learn how to do business the right way? The fun way?

• Has it finally hit you that you have to step back and be honest with yourself and admit that what you are doing is not working and that doing more of what is not working will only NOT WORK MORE!

 

Please, don't get upset with yourself, it is not your fault. We all start out the same way. The reason is, we learn from someone that doesn't know anymore than we do. Even if they are telling you they are making a fortune, they most likely are not making anything, or worse, spending money they do not have to spend.

 

Think about this, what would happen if people just like you, with all that determination, commitment and dedication, were to find you and want to work with you? Would this be a better way to build your MLM business?

 

Now think about what it would be like for you if these people found you and you showed them how to build there MLM business the right way?

 

This is what I do, I show people how to network market using the latest tools along with real world time tested business techniques. I do not work with just anyone, I only work with people like you, people that are past all the get rich quick schemes, people that are past the old school MLM tactics, people that are ready to build that online empire and are not willing to stop at anything until they succeed.

 

Now, you are welcome to use all the information at Critical Marketing Tools with whatever business you are working on and I hope that you will see the value here and apply it to your business. What am I am looking for:
Let me start with what I am not looking for.

• I am not looking for people who still think there is a get rich quick system out there. There are some ways to make big money in a short time compared to most businesses but the fact is there is no get rich quick system. They all take time and work and money
• I will not work with whiners. I used to put up with people like this, the ones that whine and complain. Even if you give them the best information they whine and complain. I don't need people like that.
• If you are broke and desperate, you are too late to start a business. If you want to start and run a real business you must invest some money. If you can't understand this, you are not ready to work with me. There are many free ways to grow an online business but you at least have to have the basics down first. No dough no go.
• I am not interested in part timers. I am not talking about people that have to start and run there business part time until they can quit there boring day job but you have to at least be dreaming big enough that one of your biggest goals is to fire your boss and start making yourself rich.
• No excuse makers. If I give you the steps to get set up and running, I expect to see consistent progress and not to hear excuses. This is a big one, a lot of people are not used to working for themselves and completing tasks without someone telling them what to do and when to do it. I am not going to baby-sit anyone, I coach and mentor. I will give you the tools and show you past the blocks everyone encounters but I will not baby-sit.
• No cherry pickers. Nothing is worse than someone who is not making any money thinking they know more than their coach and picking and choosing what they like doing and leaving out the things they don't. Hmmm. Sound like someone you know? I do not waste my time with people like this.

 

As you can see I am not desperate and you don't need to be either.

You have to understand that if you want to do MLM you have to have a mentor that you can piggy back on, someone that is going to take you under their wing and share their success with you until you have success of your own. If you are desperate and your sponsor is desperate, then you have to ask your self, would you join you?

 

This is where your sponsor/mentor comes in. You need to show people who you are and also show that you have value. That value might start out with sharing the value that your sponsor has. If the people that you know are important, then, that makes you important. Network marketing starts with networking. You have to develop a network of business associates and that starts with becoming a part of a network that already has value.

 

The reason people spend so much time out hunting down prospects and leads is because they are doing it wrong. So, when you finally get someone to bite, you are desperate to sign up anyone that comes along. The result of this is your time will be wasted on people that were never interested in you in the first place. They will consume all of your free time and frustrate you to no end and then drop out. you will always be filling the top as they drop out of the bottom. Perpetual prospecting is what I call that.

 

Once you realize that there are people just like you out there that will stop at nothing to be successful and all you have to do is make sure that you both are on the same page your business becomes a fun and exciting, your time is spent making sure that your network is well taken care of, and the best part is people will get in line to work with you. This is real network marketing. Not desperate marketing.

 

I am excited, at this point, because I know you read the page this far. Most people will not, most people are too busy looking for a magic bullet that is going to fix everything for them. They are not looking answers, they are not looking for a solution, they are just hoping and dreaming, and if the first few paragraphs do not promise them they will be driving a Ferrari with in a few days they are off to join another get rich quick scheme.  But, you, however, did read this far. So, does this mean that you are the next MLM rock star that I am looking for? Let's go over this check list and see if you can say yes to all of these questions.
